STOP FACEBOOK, TWITTER & YOUTUBE CENSORING CONSERVATIVE SPEECH!

Tell Congress:
Save Freedom of Speech by
Amending the Communications Decency Act!

Companies like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter are censoring conservative and Christian speech by misusing the Communications Decency Act of 1996.

This law - written long before internet use became as widespread as today - grants these companies permission to censor conservative speech as if it were pornography or an incitement to violence.

Liberal companies are abusing this law to drive conservative political speech off of the internet. Tell Congress to amend the Communications Decency Act to save freedom of speech!

Pam Geller of Jihad Watch and author Robert Spencer have filed a lawsuit because Facebook, Twitter and YouTube constantly censor their truthful assertions online about Islamic terrorism.1

A copy of the lawsuit is linked below.2

Here is what the Communications Decency Act says in 47 US Code § 230, section (c)(2)(A):

"No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be held liable on account of any action voluntarily taken in good faith to restrict access to or availability of material that the provider or user considers to be obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, whether or not such material is constitutionally protected."3

20 years after the Communications Decency Act was written, social media companies are using THAT language to censor any speech that Muslims or Obama deem offensive, while at the same time allowing their platforms to be used by actual terrorists with impunity!

Our freedom of speech rights are at stake if we allow the speech Nazis at Facebook, YouTube and Twitter to continue abusing this statute.

This is government-sanctioned censorship!

Tell the House Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, or the entire Congress, to rewrite this law immediately so that social media companies can no longer stifle our speech online!

Jesus said in Matthew 5:15-16, "Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

Allowing this government-sanctioned censorship to continue is an act of putting our light under a basket. How are we to reach others with the truth when we allow the largest internet social media companies censor us and our fellow Americans?

We have the truth on our side which is why we speak with such boldness. Only tyrannical speech Nazis try to actively suppress the truth and that is what we are battling by working to change this law.

Speak out today! Tell Congress to amend the outdated Communications Decency Act and stop Facebook, Twitter and YouTube from censoring the speech of conservatives, Christians and patriots!

Dear Chairman Walden:

A provision in the Communications Decency Act of 1996 is being used by social media companies to censor the political speech of Americans. The particular language in 47 U.S. Code § 230 reads:  ""No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be held liable on account of any action voluntarily taken in good faith to restrict access to or availability of material that the provider or user considers to be obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, whether or not such material is constitutionally protected."

That language was originally meant to protect website owners from user postings that contain pornography, incitements to violence or other similar materials. Unfortunately, companies like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are now using that statute as a government-sanctioned sledgehammer to censor the political speech of Americans. This is unconstitutional and wrong.

This law was passed by Congress at a time when no one could have envisioned the impact and reach of social media websites. No one who wrote the original law could have imagined that it would one day be abused by speech Nazis to suppress the opinions of Americans, but that is what has come to pass. While a lawsuit has been filed against these companies, it could take years for this situation to be resolved and in the meantime, this censorship is being used to try to sway the 2016 elections.

You can stop this unconstitutional and government-sanctioned censorship today! Amend the Communications Decency Act so that companies cannot suppress the political speech of Americans. You can strike a blow for freedom of speech by rewriting a decades-old law that is being abused!
