The First Amendment Does Not
Stop At The Church Doors!

Repealing the Johnson Amendment of 1954 has been added to the official Republican Party Platform this year.1 The Johnson Amendment strangles free speech in American churches and it must be abolished.

Now we have to convince the GOP Congress to follow through by passing HR 153 to repeal the Johnson Amendment!2

Use the form to the right of the video screen to send Personalized Letters (FaxGrams) to every Member of Congress, starting with the House Ways & Means Committee. Tell Congress to restore the First Amendment in churches!

Unindicted war criminal Lyndon Baines Johnson was infuriated when Texas pastors were preaching against Johnson's godless socialism.

Johnson proposed adding churches -- which were already untaxed -- to the list of federal 501(c)3 tax exempt organizations.

Johnson won and America has been in a spiritual and moral decline at the highest levels of government and culturally ever since then!

When churches registered as 501(c)3s (instead of remaining free churches like Pray For US), they gave up the pastor's right to preach the truth from the pulpit if that truth involved elected officials or candidates.

So while Communist public sector labor unions are free to prop up the Democrat Party financially, churches are threatened with losing their tax exempt status if the preacher states that Hillary Clinton supports killing black babies in the womb, a violation of "You shall not murder."

Free speech has been crippled in American churches but we can regain it if Congress repeals the Johnson Amendment.

HR 153 is a bill that would do just that! We need to convince Congress to pass this bill immediately.

Tell Congress to repeal the Johnson Amendment and restore free speech in all churches and synagogues in America!

Zechariah 8:16-17 states, "'These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts; do not plot evil against each other, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this,” declares the Lord."

America is an empire decaying from the top because our pastors are not even allowed to tell the truth from the pulpit about elected officials and candidates.

The Johnson Amendment of 1954 struck a tremendous blow against the churches in America and we have been in decline as a nation ever since.

Now that Donald Trump has brought national attention to this issue and even added it to the Republican Party Platform, we need to follow through and demand that Congress act.

You can help restore free speech in American churches by demanding that Congress support and pass HR 153 to repeal the Johnson Amendment. Do it for your country and do it TODAY!

Dear Chairman Brady:

Churches and synagogues in America have lived in fear of their own government since 1954 when the Johnson Amendment was passed. A body of religious believers is itself tax exempt by its very nature and has been since our nation's founding. But the Johnson Amendment subverted this principle by adding churches to the list of 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations. This was an act of vengeance on the part of Lyndon Baines Johnson, who was infuriated that pastors in Texas were telling the truth to their congregations about him.

As it stands in America today, if a preacher tells his congregation that a candidate's policies violate the principles of the Bible, the IRS can kick in the church doors, confiscate the tithes, computers and other property, and lock up the church doors so no one can attend while the federal government conducts an investigation. An observant person might note that this has a chilling effect on free speech.

A church is not a nonprofit organization. It is a church and the founding fathers believed that the church is tax-exempt by its very nature. Imagine trying to argue with Thomas Jefferson that a church should not have the same free speech rights as a public sector labor union. The Johnson Amendment of 1954 was a ludicrous act of personal revenge by a petty socialist and it should never have become public policy.

You swore an oath to defend the Constitution, so here is your chance! HR 153 would repeal the Johnson Amendment of 1954 and restore freedom of speech in American churches and synagogues. I demand that you support and pass HR 153 immediately. For Republicans in Congress, this is now especially important because repealing the Johnson Amendment has been added to the official 2016 Republican Party Platform.
