Conservative GOP Representative Mo Brooks
Says "Hell No" to Senate 2018 Budget Deal!

Congressman Mo Brooks is Correct!
We must live Within Our Means!

The bi-partisan budget for 2018 just agreed upon in the Senate by Republican Mitch McConnell R-KY and Democrat Chuck Schumer D-NY “… is a debt-junkie’s wildest dream – with all the spending of money that we don’t have, we have to borrow to get and can’t afford to pay back,” according to Representative Mo Brook R-AL who was first elected to the house in 2010.

Brooks continued, “You can see that reflected in the credit markets, where we're going to embark on an unending stream of annual deficits — money taken out of the credit markets — money that's no longer there that drives up interest rates.

"It is unfathomable to me that we want to bankrupt a country that took centuries of our ancestors to build, but this legislation goes a long ways to bringing about an American debilitating insolvency and bankruptcy.

He concluded "I'm shocked how bad and how irresponsible this piece of legislation is."

It is bad!  It is irresponsible.  PLUS – it does not include President Trump’s needed funding for the Wall.

Twittering its disapproval as well, the House & Senate Freedom Caucus stated:

Official position: HFC opposes the caps deal. We support funding our troops, but growing the size of government by 13 percent is not what the voters sent us here to do.

All the substantive issues – like over-borrowing and under-funding – aside, this huge headless whale will probably just be procedurally tacked onto the stopgap spending bill just approved by both houses Newsmax reported.  This will be a disaster.  So, we cannot let this happen!

Please send your Action Letters to the House Budget Committee now and tell both the GOP and Democrat members not to adopt this spendthrift bill – to work on it and pare it down to a reasonable size.

The Freedom Caucus’ statement that this bill alone will increase the size of the federal government by 13% is by itself frightening enough.

But, add onto that 13% growth in size the huge deficit increase that will follow and you have a huge impact facing the GOP in the 2018 midterm elections.

For, who is going to vote GOP when the GOP just increased the deficit by hundreds of billions and the size of the government at the same time?

This budget, then is a recipe for disaster for America, our Party and our Faith because the budget combines carelessness with our nation’s assets and obligates future generations to pay unnecessary bills.  Proverbs at 18:9 points out that, “He also that is negligent in his work is brother to him that is the great master of destruction”.

We thus urge you to tell the House Budget Committee to send the budget bill back to the Senate as non-adoptable in the House because it also breaks spending caps that have been in place for years.

INCREASE YOUR IMPACT:  After sending your Action Letters, please also contact your members Congress directly at 202-224-3121. Tell them to reject the Senate's 2018 budget proposal.

Dear Chairman Womack:

Please listen to what the Freedom Caucus has to say about the 2018 Budget bill just sent to the House by the Senate.

As well, please pay attention to what the New York Times has to say about this Senate proposal.

Regardless of what side of the aisle you're on, this 2018 budget from the Senate is a bad deal for everyone in America.  Let me explain why:

The Freedom Caucus won't vote for it; indeed, Congressman Mo Brooks R-AL says it is not only NO to this budget, it is (and I quote), "Hell No!".  It takes a lot to get a quote like that out of a Southern Gentleman who has been in the House since 2010.

The typically progressive NY Times says about this bill, that "A sizable number of House Republicans are likely to rebel against the deal because of its huge increase in spending.”

The NY Times also wrote, “On the other side of the political spectrum, some House Democrats could vote against it because it does nothing to move Congress closer to protecting undocumented young immigrants brought to the country as children, known as Dreamers.”

As even President Trump now appears ready to work towards a solution to these issues, is it not wise to stop kicking the proverbial “can” down the alley and, instead, work towards a viable, long-term compromise that will solve all of the major outstanding issues?

I think so and I therefore urge you to say “NO” to this bill and then rededicate yourself to making a lasting budget, a budget within America’ means and a budget that does substantial equity to all side.

Mark Stanford R-SC, stated on CNN to Jake Tapper, “There will be a political price to pay … [and] [u]ltimately, it is a big strategic threat, what comes next on the national debt front.

"We have a profound spending problem," Congressman Stanford added and that "If, at the end of the day Republicans, own the tab on the way [the deficit] has increased, I think it is a political problem as well."

This is a huge problem for the Democrats, as well. It is well-proven that Democrats just like Republican get upset over the increasing size of the federal deficit.

Democrat voters are also worried about unsustainable budget deficits, especially in times as now, when the economy is booming and unemployment is low, according to Amatai Etzioni’s report in the Huffington Post.

So, either way – liberal or conservative – the price to pay for imprudence at the budget office may well be losses in the polling booth.  Thus, I urge you to vote NO.
