01/22/2014 Today marks the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision and nearly every television station in America is glorifying this anniversary. This decision deemed abortion a fundamental right under the United States Constitution. The last hurdle in overcoming the greatest sin of our nation is the US Congress. In spite of a majority of Americans believing that life is sacred, Congress has refused to ban abortion, even when Republicans held a majority in the House and Senate.
Can you sense the dread in the voices of some of the mainstream presstitutes today? They know that something is very wrong. They know that they are on the wrong side of history and the God of the Bible. The reservations that they are having are well-placed. A recent Gallup poll showed that 48 percent of Americans now consider themselves pro-life, compared to 45 percent who are pro-abortion.
The Sanctity of Life Act, HR 2764, would clarify by law that human life begins at conception. This is all that is needed to legally overturn Roe v. Wade, yet it has been stuck in committee for 19 years now (Rep. Steve Stockman of Texas faithfully reintroduces it during each session of Congress).
A mother writing in Life News last year stated, “The undeniable fact is that nearly a third of my generation is missing. We are missing brothers, sisters, cousins, friends, husbands and wives.” How many of those lost lives would have been another Einstein, Mozart, Washington, Jefferson or Franklin? We will never know. What we do know is that our problems as a nation are compounded by the sin of abortion. In fact, Congress’ lax approach toward illegal aliens is directly related to abortion.
If you have lost your job to an illegal alien or are at risk of that happening, the source of that problem is actually abortion. Since Roe v. Wade, 56 million American lives have been snuffed out. This is a higher number than any individual national genocide that was committed in the 20th century.
Congress now seeks to import close to 50-million illegal aliens and grant them citizenship through amnesty which is almost the exact same number of people that we have lost due to abortion. This is not a coincidence. They are desperately trying to preserve our way of life, our tax base and perpetual government growth by replacing those aborted babies with foreign workers. We cannot have it both ways as a nation.
States have an interest in preserving the lives of every human being within their borders and the same protection that is granted to illegal aliens — the right to life — would then be extended to babies in the womb. Do you miss the version of America that we used to have? We used to build skyscrapers, we whipped the Nazis and Japan, and we put a man on the moon. We could be that nation again if we would fear God and stop sacrificing our children to the false god of “convenience.”
As Christians, we know that God treasures the lives of every child, including those in the womb, because He is the Giver of Life and the Author of our Destiny as a nation. Jesus said, “Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.” (Matthew 18:14)
Here is one final reason to urge Congress to pass the Sanctity of Life Act today. 2014 is an election year and this will help to separate the wheat from the chaff. No candidate should be allowed to go on the campaign trail and state that they are pro-life with a straight face, if they refuse to support this Act. This will help us to identify which candidates are really on the side of the Body of Christ and those who are wolves in sheep’s clothing.
