The following prayer to God was delivered on a live radio episode of Pray For US on January 20, 2013. The program originally aired on KCAA 1050 AM in San Bernardino, California; the podcast of the program is archived on this site. Our guest for this episode was Todd Nettleton, the Director of Media Operations for Voice of the Martyrs. Todd discussed the work and efforts of Voice of the Martyrs, a ministry dedicated to assisting the persecuted church worldwide. Our prayer on the program was for Muslims to repent and turn to Jesus Christ for their salvation.
Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Jesus Christ is the only name under heaven by which men and women can be saved. We’re focusing specifically on this program on Islam and we boldly want to declare to the Muslim listeners out there that there is no salvation in the name of Mohammad or the name of Allah.
Many Muslims don’t realize that even the Koran declares this: You cannot be saved by Allah or Mohammad. The Koran only vaguely outlines a system of “works salvation,” which in turn lumps Islam in with every other religion in the world – with the exception of Christianity.
Many Muslims don’t realize that their own Koran – a secular document – declares the divinity of Jesus Christ. Surah 19, verses 9 through 22, describes the immaculate conception and birth of Jesus Christ to the Virgin Mary. To our Muslim listeners, this is not the birth of a prophet being described. It is the divine birth of Jesus Christ, the only begotten, co-equal Son of God.
Surah 19 also declares that Jesus will rise from the dead and that He will, essentially, be the last one standing at the end of time. This clearly mimics the Scriptures of the Bible which declare that Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
And so our prayer to God is this:
Our heavenly Father,
We ask You this day that any Muslim listeners within the sound of our voice would hear the irresistible call of Your Gospel. And that they would throw off the chains of their false idols and cling to the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Let them repent of their sin and ask forgiveness in His name, the only name under heaven by which men and women may be saved.
And we ask this through our intermediary, Jesus Christ, in His holy name,
